My advice for your song choices…

Want to include Musical Theatre in your day?

I’ve got you covered!

I am a self professed musical theatre nerd and absolutely love getting to belt out some musical theatre at a wedding. If you love it too, you should definitely include it in your day. Here are some of my favourite choices (and why they are perfect for your wedding!)

For Good - Wicked : This one is beautiful and perfect for ceremonies. Talking about the one who has changed you for the better.

Still Holding My Hand - Matilda: Another gorgeous choice for a ceremony, it gives me goosebumps every time.

Changing My Major - Fun Home: This song is the epitome of queer joy and a must have for a queer wedding in my opinion

As Long As You’re Mine - Wicked: Passionate and talking of a love you want to cherish every second of - perfect for a wedding!

By the Sea - Sweeney Todd: A very funny addition to a wedding, just listen to the lyrics.

Dyin’ Ain’t So Bad - Bonnie and Clyde: This song talks about life only being worth it with the one you love

Feels Like This - The Little Big Things: A more upbeat choice perfect for an exit song! Wishing ‘forever could feel like this’.

I Am What I Am - La Cage Aux Folles: A fab choice for a queer wedding, talking about loving and celebrating yourself as you are

Hopelessly Devoted to You - Grease: A classic MT number, sure to get your guests singing along

I Can Hear the Bells - Hairspray: Do I even need to explain this one? A brilliant choice for a wedding.

I Know It’s Today - Shrek: All about how today is the day she will meet her true love, it’s so fitting for a wedding!

I’ll Cover You - Rent: About being there for your love through anything and just beautiful

Let’s Play a Love Scene - FAME: This song is super wistful and just aches of young love

Love You I Do - Dreamgirls: A FAB choice for exit or wedding breakfast entrance - and we can make the language gender neutral for any couple

My House - Matilda: Talking about her home being the place she feels safe, I think you can see this as your spouse

Only Us - Dear Evan Hansen: About how you only need each other and gets all the feels going for sure!

Right Hand Man - Something Rotten!: A super fun choice for drinks or wedding reception - I have to say this is one of my all time faves

Seasons of Love - Rent: A classic for a reason. Amazing wedding addition and will get guests all teary

Stupid With Love - Mean Girls: A fun choice about being so in love you lose your mind a little

Suddenly Seymour - Little Shop of Horrors: We all know this one, it’s sweet and earnest and lovely

Till There Was You - The Music Man: Have a listen to this one if you don’t know it, the lyrics are actually perfection for a wedding and you should definitely use it. Since she met him, she finally sees how wonderful the world is!

Vanilla Ice Cream - She Loves Me: Classical soprano vibes, the moment she realises she loves this guy she thought she hated

What More Can I Say - Falsettos: Another absolutely stunning choice, listen to the lyrics, it will make you cry (and it’s a queer love song which is another plus)

And then there are the choices that might not be love related, but will almost definitely get your guests belting along -

On My Own - Les Miserables

I Dreamed a Dream - Les Miserables

My Favourite Things - The Sound of Music

I Could Have Danced All Night - My Fair Lady

Memory - Cats

Over the Rainbow - The Wizard of Oz

We have the dreamy love songs...

Kiss the Girl - The Little Mermaid (slow piano version)

You’ll Be in My Heart - Tarzan

Can You Feel the Love Tonight - The Lion King

When You Wish Upon a Star - Sara Bareilles version

All of which are perfect for emotional ceremony moments! There are also some more upbeat favourites such as...

You’ve Got a Friend in Me - Toy Story

And the childhood classics that just feel super nostalgic...

Reflection - Mulan

Colours of the Wind - Pocahontas

Part of Your World - The Little Mermaid

But if your favourite Disney tune isn’t on my repertoire, I would be happy to learn it - I LOVE a bit of Disney.

Having a Disney wedding?

A final bit of advice…

Obviously, the most important rule when making song choices for your day is to choose music you love, that represents you and ignore anyone who tells you a song isn’t ‘wedding appropriate’ (if you love a song, it’s wedding appropriate), you can have any song you love at your wedding and we can also use custom tracks to make them wedding perfect! All of the suggestions above are just that, suggestions, and you absolutely don’t have to follow that format if it isn’t you!

Choose the music you love, the music that makes your heart full, and you will have the best time - trust me.
